Free Claude guide 01
Your AI content team
Four AI assistants. Set up once. Use them every week. This guide shows you how to turn one free Claude account into a small content team that researches, writes and checks your posts, while you stay the one who decides. No tech skills needed.
- 01 The Researcher finds what your audience is actually stuck on
- 02 The Hook Writer writes five first lines and keeps the best one
- 03 The Builder turns the hook into a reel or carousel draft
- 04 The Editor reads it like a bored scroller and cuts the dull bits
And the one rule: nothing posts without your yes.
How to copy the prompts
Every prompt sits in its own white box, so you know exactly where it starts and ends.
- On your phone: press and hold the first word in the box, drag the end handle down to the last word, then tap Copy.
- On a laptop: click before the first word, hold Shift and click after the last word, then press Ctrl + C (Cmd + C on a Mac).
Before you start
How your team works
Each team member is a Claude Project: a saved space with its own job description and your files inside it. You set each one up once. After that, you open the project, start a new chat and hand it work. It already knows its job and your voice, so there’s no re-explaining.
Free Claude accounts can have up to five Projects. You’ll use four.
What it is, and what it isn’t
Your assistants don’t run on their own or talk to each other. You pass the work from desk to desk: copy what one gives you and paste it into the next. That’s on purpose. You’re the manager, and nothing moves without you.
What you need
- A free Claude account. Go to claude.ai or download the Claude app, and sign up with your email.
- Three to five of your best posts or captions. No posts yet? Use emails or messages you’ve written.
- One short paragraph about who you’re talking to and what you sell, or plan to sell.
- About an hour, on a laptop or computer. Setting up is much easier on a big screen. Once it’s done, you can use your team from the Claude app on your phone.
Why the one rule matters
Tools that “post for you” save five minutes and cost you your reputation the first time something odd goes out under your name. Your team drafts. You approve.
Free accounts have a usage limit. If Claude says you’ve reached it, come back in a few hours and carry on where you left off. Claude also updates its screens now and then, so buttons may look slightly different. The steps stay the same.
Step 1 · Write the team handbook
Teach it your voice, once
Every team member reads the same handbook: your rules and your voice. Skip this and your team writes like a robot that’s read too many LinkedIn posts.
1. Start a normal chat in Claude (not a Project yet). Copy this, paste it in, and add your posts at the bottom:
Copy · Voice interview
I want you to write a voice profile for my social media content. Interview me first. Ask me 5 questions, one at a time, and wait for my answer before asking the next. Cover: who I'm talking to, how I'd explain my topic to a friend, phrases I use a lot, things I'd never say, and my sense of humour.
Then read the posts I've pasted below and write a one-page voice profile: how I sound, words I use, words I never use, sentence length, and three before/after examples of a generic line rewritten in my voice.
[Paste 3–5 of your posts here]
2. Answer its questions, then read the profile it writes. Fix anything that isn’t you.
3. Make your handbook. Open a new document (Google Docs, Word, or Notes on your phone). Copy the template below into it, fill in the blanks, and paste your voice profile underneath. Save it as Team handbook.

HOUSE RULES
I'm the final decision-maker. Nothing gets published without my approval.
Always write in my voice, using the voice profile below. Write to one person, not "everyone".
No hype, no income claims, no made-up numbers, stories or examples. If you need a fact you don't have, ask me.
Plain English. Short lines. If any coach on Instagram could have written a sentence, rewrite it.
Who I talk to: [ ]
What I sell: [ ]
Words I never use: [ ]
MY VOICE PROFILE
[Paste your voice profile here]
Can’t upload a file later? Paste the whole handbook into each project’s instructions instead, underneath the job description. It works the same.
Step 2 · Hire your team
Set up each assistant
Do this four times, once for each role below. About five minutes each.
- In Claude, open Projects from the menu on the left (or go to claude.ai/projects).
- Click + New Project. Name it after the role, e.g. 01 Researcher. The description is optional.
- Click Set project instructions. Paste that role’s job description from this page, then click Save.
- In the project knowledge area, click + and upload your Team handbook.
- Done. That assistant is saved and ready whenever you open the project.
Using an assistant
Open its project, start a new chat inside it, and give it the work, like the examples below. Each new chat starts fresh but always has the job description and handbook.
Training your team
When you change something in a draft, tell the assistant what you changed and why. Once a month, update your Team handbook with the best of those notes and re-upload it to each project. Your team gets better because you keep training it, like any new starter.
Can’t see Projects? Save each job description in your Notes app and paste it, with your handbook, at the top of a new chat. It does the same job with more copy and paste.
The job descriptions
01 · The Researcher
Copy · Project instructions for 01 Researcher
You're my content researcher. Read the Team handbook before every task.
When I give you a topic, search public forums (Reddit, Mumsnet, UK Business Forums, Quora) for problems my audience is posting about. Only use real posts by real people, not articles or blogs. Give the date of every post and skip anything older than a year.
Give me up to 10 content angles. For each: the problem in one sentence, a short phrase they actually used, the date, the link, and how my expertise helps. No usernames. If you find fewer than 10 real, recent posts, tell me. Never fill the gaps.
Use it: open the project, start a new chat and type “This week’s topic: [your topic]”. If it only finds articles, search Reddit or Mumsnet yourself, copy 5 posts and paste them in with “find the angles in these”.
02 · The Hook Writer
Copy · Project instructions for 02 Hook Writer
You're my hook writer. Read the Team handbook before every task.
When I paste a content angle, write 5 hooks for a reel or a carousel cover. Each hook is a small line of 8 words or fewer plus one BIG phrase of 6 words or fewer. Use 5 different styles: a confession, a number, a contrarian take, a "patiently waiting for…", and a question.
Only use confessions and numbers I've actually given you. If I haven't, ask me for one. Never make one up.
Rank them as someone scrolling at speed would: would they stop? Tell me which to use and why. No hype, no income claims.
Use it: new chat, then paste the angle you picked from your Researcher.
03 · The Builder
Copy · Project instructions for 03 Builder
You're my content builder. Read the Team handbook before every task.
When I paste a hook, ask whether I want a reel or a carousel if I haven't said.
Reel: a 20–30 second scene list. For each scene: what's on screen, the one line of text, and how long it stays up.
Carousel: 7 slides, one idea per slide, slide 1 is the hook.
One idea only. Teach one useful thing the viewer can use today. End with one call to action, which I'll give you. Then write the caption in my voice, without repeating the hook as its first line.
Use it: new chat, then paste your winning hook, say “reel” or “carousel”, and add your call to action. Ideas: “Follow for part 2”, “Send this to a friend who needs it”, “Comment GUIDE and I’ll send it to you”.
04 · The Editor
Copy · Project instructions for 04 Editor
You're my editor. Read the Team handbook before every task.
When I paste a draft, review it three times, as:
1) someone doom-scrolling who's never heard of me (where would you scroll away?)
2) a content creator (is the hook strong, is there one line worth screenshotting?)
3) a social media manager (is it on brand, is the call to action clear, does it sound like my voice profile?)
List the problems, then give me the fixed version. Be blunt.
Use it: new chat, then paste the Builder’s draft and caption.
Making it a habit
Your weekly rhythm
| Once a week | Give your Researcher a topic. Pick your favourite 3–5 angles for the week. |
| Per post | Angle → Hook Writer → Builder → Editor. Copy each answer into the next assistant. |
| Before posting | Read it out loud. If you wouldn’t say it, change it. Then you press post. |
| Once a month | Update your Team handbook with what you’ve corrected, and re-upload it to all four. |
What it won’t do (on purpose)
- Post for you. You decide what goes out under your name.
- Know your results. Feed it real numbers or none.
- Be perfect on day one. Treat the first week like a new starter’s first week.
